Just Do It – fighting the need for perfection!

Have you ever found yourself procrastinating about doing something you know you should do, you want to do it, but you keep putting it off because its not complete or perfect.  You think you don’t know enough or aren’t good enough or any of the other excuses we tell ourselves to avoid actually taking action.

I have been talking about updating my site, I wanted to do it and knew I should do it, but I allowed myself to feel overwhelmed and keep putting it off saying I didn’t have time to do it and I didn’t want to publish it until it was up to the standard I wanted.  I’m not perfect, but I have always had to fight against the urge to not do something or share something because it wasn’t completely done or “perfect”.

There is a power though in taking action and its okay to make mistakes.  That is how we learn and grow.. I finally took the concept I knew, and applied it to my life.  Yes, I have a LOT more changes I want to make and I feel like a lot of my pages need a lot more information, but I also suddenly have such a feeling of accomplishment.  It gives me more motivation to keep going.

Is there something you have been putting off?  Whats stopping you from taking action?  Just take one small step and before you know it you will be on your way to achieving your goal.

  1. As I am very busy clicking for credits @ Thumbvu I was stopped for a few seconds and has try to follow link that leads me to Carla’s CTP profile, and from there I ‘ve read the profile and has forced me to check on what she has on a blog featured on that CTP. Well, now that I finally reach this blog, I guess all that you have cited on the topic here on your post are all true and definitely applicable in many cases. There’s always be a time to “update” something to replenish such for its perfection…. I love the phrase: “just do it….”
