On to Albuquerque, NM and Holbrook, AZ

As Days 4 and 5 have come and gone, I took the driving time to listen to some educational CD programs.  I have listened to the entire program from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and moved on to some CD’s from T. Harv Eker.   I am a big promoter of lifetime learning and this trip has started allowing my creative juices flowing.  I am really looking forward to seeing what happens as a result of all this working on myself and making my dreams and goals into reality.

My Room Upgrade!

My Room Upgrade!

So as I arrived in Albuquerque, NM , I had a very nice surprise at the hotel.  My room was upgraded and wow it was terrific.  An in-room jacuzzi and huge tv along with a king size bed were just what the doctor ordered after driving for 4 days.  The ever changing vistas and terrain never cease to amaze me. Branson, MO is known for being a place to go to listen to great country acts, as well as lots of family fun, such as putt-putt golf,  a toy museum, soldiers museum, and so much more. There are so many different activities to choose from.  This was my first time to be in Branson and it is now on my list to bring my children and grandchildren back sometime soon.

Wine Tasting Room

Since I had an early morning, I opted to just visit some of the local craftsmen stores and took part in a wine tasting.  The Stone Hill Winery offers free tours and then follows up with tasting of many of the various wines made there.  The tour guides were so friendly and helpful.
If you like wine and you are in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by and try some for yourself.

On the Road – Cincinnati, Ohio to Scottsdale, Arizona

Wow the last 4 days have been a blast.  I planned on posting each evening but ran into some wifi issues where I have stayed.  Tonight I will add the first part of my trip.  Unfortunately one of the down sides of traveling alone is that when you are driving, you cant really take pictures of the beautiful country you are going through.

One of the biggest issues I have faced since deciding to take this trip is the concern over a woman traveling alone cross-country. Continue reading

Just Do It – fighting the need for perfection!

Have you ever found yourself procrastinating about doing something you know you should do, you want to do it, but you keep putting it off because its not complete or perfect.  You think you don’t know enough or aren’t good enough or any of the other excuses we tell ourselves to avoid actually taking action.  Continue reading

Countdown to the Big Road Trip

new car 003Today I am on a countdown, to a roadtrip out west.  I am attending a transformational/success seminar in Scottsdale, AZ.  Since I lost my job a few months ago and am working on building up my marketing and coaching business with a specialty in online services, I made the decision to fulfill one of the items on my bucket list.  This was to drive cross country.  I have been to the west coast and states west of the Mississippi many times, however it was always flying.  As much as I love to fly, I really wanted to see the country and places in between.

There were lots of concerns from friends and family about my heading out on a 4000 mile round trip quest all alone, however I have planned as much as I could and am really looking forward to it.  There may not be another time where I can be away from my home and/or business for almost a month again for a very long time.   Continue reading

Changes and Challenges

April 24, 2015 ..      Its not everyday you wake up in the morning and by the end of the day your life has changed in a major way.  On a normal Tuesday morning, I headed out to work.  That afternoon, several of my co-workers and myself were called into a meeting and told that our jobs were being eliminated effective April 30.  Wow.. talk about a shock.  After almost 11 years, my tenure there was about to end.  I am about to join millions of other people who have lost their jobs over the last few years.  Being 55 years old and feeling like my skills are outdated….is a little daunting, challenging, and to be absolutely honest…..SCARY!

But…for the last few years, I have been bored, and frustrated…stuck working in a cubicle as nothing more than a cog in a wheel for a big corporation.  One of the things I had always told myself was that IF I only had the time to build my own business, to help other people…to travel more that I would do it.  Well, it appears that now is my chance to do just that!  No more excuses to myself that I don’t have the time.   What exactly do I want to do next?  I’m not sure, but having the time to explore the new world that is opening up to me is exciting.   Continue reading

Busy Week! – Honor Flight for my Dad

IMG_20140916_230320_738Wow, this has been such a busy week.  Between working and other obligations, I have been constantly doing something.  One of the outstanding moments of the week was attending the return of an  Honor Flight for our veterans from a visit to the Memorials and much more in Washington, D.C.  My dad was one of the veterans who had the opportunity to attend.   Continue reading

Getting Serious About Business

Today I am writing about how important it is to have a written goal, and stay focused on taking action to make it happen.  If you wait til everything is perfect, you may never reach your goal.  The key is to decide what you want, and take massive action to make it happen.  Once you have been taking action, its also very important to pay attention to your results, what is and is not working.  Make some changes and keep moving forward.

This weekend I have been making a list of things I need to learn and do.  Each task checked off gives me a small sense of accomplishment and make me more certain I will accomplish my goal of being able to work from home by the end of 2015.

Time to sign off and start working on my next item on the list.  I am serious….are you?

The Task of Rebuilding and Updating My Site

Well, as I start to undertake this task to update my site, the thoughts come up that it would perhaps be easier to just delete the prior posts in order to look better.  However I believe its better to show the actual process I have encountered when working on building my internet business.

I have had a few starts and stops, but the important thing is I have never given up on my dreams and am back again to share my experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly. Honesty and integrity are very important to me and I treat others with respect.

Since I am starting over, I would like to build a team of like minded individuals to work with.  As you are reading my site…keep in mind that I am still updating some of the older information.  I hope it will be helpful to you.  If there is a topic you want me to cover, please email me or leave a comment.

Have a great day!      Carla

and…..I’m Back

Well its been a very long time since my last post.  Life sometimes gets in the way of even the best of intentions, and I allowed myself to get caught up and perhaps a bit discouraged after a few disappointments with programs online.  However, now….after quite a while, I am back and ready to make things happen.  I will be updating on old information and adding new to the site, but I just got back into my site so come back regularly for changes and updates..   Sunshine n smiles…..
